The best thing about Melbourne is that one can never get bored. There are vast options for you to choose. The city offers so much; it gets hard to know everything or at times to select one of the many activities! It depends on one's taste, there are sports, activities, events, night life or just the amazing scenic beauty. You can choose to “get up and go” or just have a lazy stroll. The city offers a kind of custom made menu as per your recreational appetite.

The most surprising thing that I found in Melbourne was the weather. It is almost necessary to keep a jacket and an umbrella with you all the time. It is absolutely true to say, one can experience all four seasons in one day in Melbourne.

In Melbourne, I have rented unit accommodation. I think it's the best accommodation for students. It has all the facilities that a student requires. The security there is great and no one needs to worry about us back in our home countries!

The Universities have so many facilities; one cannot remember all of them. It would probably take more than the course duration to utilize all the facilities. The facilities are maintained at very high standards and I have no hesitation to say they go well beyond the expectations of the students. The most valuable facilities for me were 24 hour internet access, post-graduate lounges, swimming pool, printing and scanning facilities and a 24 hour access graduate house. Needless to say, the kitchen and common rooms give the students their own private place to sit and relax, have lunch and discuss things amongst their classmates. It also provides an area for people from various backgrounds to interact and know each other better.

At the university, I always found myself amongst students and staff committed not only to learning but also to gaining knowledge and developing the ability to apply the knowledge into practice. The staff are there when we need them (or rather before we need them). There are so many facilities, offered by the various departments at the University that one should know how to utilize them. The best part is that the Careers and Employment Department takes care of the students even after they have graduated. Any assistance of this level means a lot to students. International students specifically benefit from this assistance, as it offers them support when they are lonely and away from their home and family.

Melbourne has so much to offer that it doesn't take a lot of planning to organise leisure activities. I have spent time visiting various places in the city like museums, gardens, the Zoo and the Aquarium. There are many places close to Melbourne where one can go and have a great time. I have a long list already planned!

After I complete my study, I intend to stay and work in Melbourne to gain some experience. I personally believe that studying here has given me an insight into the world of Physiotherapy. The Physiotherapy standards and the kind to Physiotherapy practice have fascinated me so much. I would like to stay back and gain some experience to develop my skill set and put my knowledge into practice.

It was a wise decision on to come to Melbourne. My studies, the leisure activities and the whole experience have added a more to the person that I am. It has been an investment for the future.

My advice to the new students coming to Melbourne would be to keep an open mind and take everything that comes your way. Be prepared to give 200 per cent and let things take their own course. Be ready to try new things out, the sky is the limit! Never hesitate to ask or meet people. I can assure you that people here will go all out of their way to help you. It would be better for your own personal development not to restrict yourself to the clichéd things and be a trend setter. Dare to dream, dare to try. No star is too distant, no hope is too high.
