Melbourne is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, not only because of the lovely weather here, but also because of the nice Australian people. Sometimes I nearly forget that I am in another country, because I felt very comfortable and relaxed here.

I have really enjoyed living amongst the Australian people. I have found that most of the people here are friendly. People always give you a lovely smile and say hello, which makes me feel so comfortable and happy. I remember that during my first month I here, I experienced trouble finding my way around. I felt very stressed when I got lost. Luckily, I received a lot of help from others, because Australian people are very nice. They are always happy to help you when you are lost or in trouble.

Many things about Melbourne surprised me when I first arrived in Melbourne . I remember one of my language teachers who was particularly kind to me. I felt very upset because I felt homesick and I missed my mother. To my surprise when my teacher found out, she invited me to her party and introduced her friends to me. All that made me felt much better. Now, I am still in contact with her. She has helped me find my way here.

There are so many good memories that I will take home about Melbourne . If I could mention only one, I would say that the people here are very helpful. As international students we might have some trouble with our English but Melbournians never say “no” when you are asking them for help. I also enjoy where I live in Melbourne . I'm in a house which is large and very bright. I feel so comfortable in it.

I have found my university teachers to be very helpful. As we know, it is a little difficult for the international students when they start studying in another country. Personally, I found it was very difficult to follow the course at the beginning of my first year. I felt so upset about my study. One day I received an email for my lecturer. She mentioned something about special classes for international students and that it was for those students who were having difficulties with their study. I attended to the course and it was so helpful for my study. I felt free to ask all kinds of questions. The teachers were so helpful by being very patient in answering all of my questions.

There are differences between studying in Melbourne and in China . The most noticeable difference is the method of learning. In Melbourne , students are more independent than they are in China . As a student, you should not only learn from your textbooks or from your lecturer, you can also learn from your daily life or from you class mates. However, in China , the best student is the student who knows the textbook very well and who always attends lectures. Normally, I spend my leisure time with my friends. I have many local friends, and they invite me to their parties. I find it very interesting to attend many different kinds of parties. This a new experience for me, because in China , it is rare to have these kinds of parties.

At my university, there is a gymnasium, a library, laboratories and kitchens. All those facilities offer a lot of convenience to the students. I find that the facilities are very helpful for students.

I think studying overseas is a very valuable time in our lives. I think it is better to know more local friends, because you can get more opportunities choices to join in local activities. That way, you can get to know Melbourne much better. Melbourne is a good place for all the international students to commence their study and their adult life. I find I am not only gaining academic knowledge but also learning new things about life.

I have many plans for my future. I would really love to stay in Melbourne but I think I will travel to some other countries to have a further look around the world. As a nurse, my goals are to help all the patients who are in need.
