Melbourne is a really nice place. The people are friendly and sociable, which put me at ease when I first arrived in Melbourne.  It is a multi-cultural city where I am able to mingle with people from different races, cultures and family backgrounds - people from all walks of life. I have been able to taste the wide varieties of gourmet foods available anywhere in Melbourne. I enjoy all of the events that are held in Melbourne especially Moomba Festival and look forward to enjoy the next one.

I was surprised by Melbourne 's weather when I first arrived here. The locals call it “the city where you can experience four seasons in a day.” Compared to the tropical weather in my home country, it is very different. It took me quite a while to become accustomed to it.

I will cherish fond memories of Melbourne particularly the memories of chilling out with my friends and enjoying the marvellous cups of hot steaming aromatic coffee served in most of the cafes around Melbourne.

Studying in Melbourne is different to studying in Indonesia. The study materials, the relationship between the student and teacher and the orientation program are totally different. Back home, it concentrates more on theory but In Melbourne, the education system leans towards practical application, which I found more preferable as it will allows me to easily apply my university education in the workplace environment.

The teaching staff and the lecturers are friendly and I would not hesitate to approach them for help when I encountered any difficulties in my studies. Most of the time, I received useful and constructive feedbacks from the lecturers. The facilities at my university are excellent as far as I am concerned. The library contains a lot of useful materials to support my study and the computer labs have up-to-date software and high-speed Internet connection.

My advice to new students who consider to study in Melbourne would be to mingle with more people, don't only stick to your own crowd. Communicate with people from different background will help us to understand other cultures, expand our knowledge, expose us to different sorts of perspectives and in the end we are able to gain a valuable experience which will enrich our memories in studying in Melbourne.
